Living Green/Waste Services

Urban Service provides our customers with waste disposal options that reduce the amount of waste materials sent to landfill as part of our ZeroLandfill approach to waste management. By providing the optimal mix of trash and recycle containers and by the strategic use of compaction services for customers with large volumes of material, we strive to reduce the amount of waste for which a disposal option is needed. To further divert the amount of waste sent to landfill, we provide our customers with the additional option of using a Waste-to-Energy Facility.

Living Green/Recycling Services

Urban Service offers our customers a variety of programs that focus on source reduction and reuse; that minimize waste to landfills and that meet local and federal guidelines for recycling. Our programs include GreenLight (sm) our fluorescent bulb recycling program, ComPro (sm), our local food composting program, and SingleServe (sm), our single stream material recycling program.

Working Green

Urban Service has taken steps to minimize our own carbon footprint by maximizing our own recycling and reuse efforts. We have installed a solar roof at our terminal facility and we are purchasing carbon offsets from wind power through Clean Energy of Colorado for our headquarters and operations terminal that are equivalent to 145,505 pounds of carbon emissions.
